Chinese Undergraduate Visiting Research Program

Main content start

The Chinese Undergraduate Visiting Research (UGVR) Program is aimed at building understanding between U.S. and Chinese students.

The program builds collaboration between Stanford and top Chinese universities by attracting Chinese undergraduate students to Stanford to work with faculty and students on research in the summer. By being part of the UGVR cohort, Chinese students learn from and enhance Stanford undergraduate and graduate students’ experience with a diverse, international population, broadening the perspective of both groups.

Interested Stanford School of Engineering faculty can submit research position descriptions and required skills/background in the fall. The partner Chinese universities recruit and pre-select top candidates among junior students. Stanford faculty then make final decisions about accepting candidates. Current partner universities include Tsinghua, Peking University, and University of Science and Technology of China.

Eligibility

All Academic Council Faculty in the School of Engineering are invited to apply.
